Thailand is the second largest economy in South-East Asia with the value of trade between Thailand and the UK exceeding $7 billion a year. In July 2019, Dominic Raab, the UK Foreign Secretary visited Thailand as one of top priority countries-strategic partners of the UK. There is a long history of friendship between the U.K. and Thailand and an ever increasing strive to strengthen our strategic partnership between the two nations.
At the end of 2018 Pearson, the digital learning company, has received an official government endorsement from the Thai Government which allows BTEC qualifications to be delivered in every vocational and higher institution in Thailand, both in the public and private sector. This has paved the way for equipping Thai current and future workforce with world-class career focused education, supporting economic objectives of Thailand 4.0 and fostering foreign direct investment across all industrial sectors.
The Thai-UK Business Leadership Forum, organised by Pearson with support from UK-ASEAN Business Council and Anglo-Thai Society, aims to gather together Thai, British and Multinational Industry leads to discuss opportunities and challenges of doing business in Thailand, workforce challenges and demands in Thailand and how UK business can further strengthen the relationships between the two countries.
