H.E. Mr Mark Kent took up his post as British Ambassador to the Kingdom of Thailand in August 2012, in succession to Mr. Asif Ahmed. This is Mr. Kent’s first posting to Thailand, but he spent the year prior to his appointment learning the Thai language and is no stranger to SE Asia, having served as British Ambassador to Vietnam from 2007 to 2010. He is accompanied by his wife Martine.
H.E. Mr Pasan Teparak took up his appointment as Thai Ambassador to the Court of St. James in October 2012, in succession to Mr. Kitti Wasinondh. Khun Pasan joined the Thai Foreign Service in 1984. He was Consul-General in Dubai from 2006 to 2011 and after a short tour as Minister at the Thai Embassy in Canberra and then Ambassador attached to the Prime Minister’s Office, was appointed to his present post. The only Thai temple in the UK purposely built in the Thai architectural style and a perfect place to celebrate Songkran in London. The programme of events includes the chance to make offerings to monks and enjoy Thai food and cultural performances on stage. Free entry, all welcome.
