ATS welcomes new Ambassadors to Britain and Thailand

H.E. Mr Mark Kent took up his post as British Ambassador to the Kingdom of Thailand in August 2012, in succession to Mr. Asif Ahmed. This is Mr. Kent’s first posting to Thailand, but he spent the year prior to his appointment learning the Thai language and is no stranger to SE Asia, having served as British Ambassador to Vietnam from 2007 to 2010. He is accompanied by his wife Martine.

H.E. Mr Pasan Teparak took up his appointment as Thai Ambassador to the Court of St. James in October 2012, in succession to Mr. Kitti Wasinondh.  Khun Pasan  joined the Thai Foreign Service in 1984. He was Consul-General in Dubai from 2006 to 2011 and after a short tour as Minister at the Thai Embassy in Canberra and then Ambassador attached to the Prime Minister’s Office, was appointed to his present post. H.E. Khun Pasan  is accompanied by his wife, Khun Paradee. For more details please go to www.thaiembassyuk.org.uk or  to “Links” on this website.

The Anglo-Thai Society sends its congratulations to both new Ambassadors on their respective appointments and wishes them and their spouses every success.
